Cascades 6 Pack is my second beat tape under the Duttygrant moniker, and this one’s got a special vibe. I put this together on the road in 2022 while playing a run of shows in the Pacific Northwest. Every time I hit play, I’m right back in that rainy, moody atmosphere—tour life, deep thoughts, and big transitions. This was the soundtrack to me closing out my chapter as a touring engineer and figuring out what was next.

This tape leans more into a modern sound than Wow & Flutter, and that’s because of how I made it. Everything here was crafted on my MPC—no outside gear, no extras, just straight from the pads. That process pushed me into more intricate, layered arrangements, and I’m hyped to hear MCs jump on these beats. In fact, you can expect some collabs with Foundation on these tracks real soon.More than anything, Cascades 6 Pack is a snapshot—a collection of beats tied to a time, a place, and a headspace. Music has a way of bottling up emotions and memories, and this tape is no exception. I don’t know where the next journey will take me, but I do know this: I’ll always have a beat tape to go along with it.
