JR Redford – Promises

Some albums are just records—others are personal landmarks. Promises is the latter. This album wasn’t just another project; it was a reflection of years of friendship, collaboration, and mutual growth between JR and me. Our story goes back to 2009 when I first landed in Nashville, and ever since, we’ve been creating, evolving, and pushing each other musically.

When it came time to record Promises, we knew we needed the right setting—something that felt as big as the music itself. We found it in a secluded cabin high up in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on the edge of the Smoky Mountains. The landscape alone felt cinematic, like it was feeding into the songs as much as the instruments were. That energy seeped into every note we played.

But it wasn’t just about the scenery. Years of working together had built a musical shorthand between us. Every decision felt instinctual, every take felt natural. This album didn’t feel like we were recording it—it felt like it was unfolding in real time, like it had been waiting for the right moment to come to life.

The sounds we captured in that cabin are huge—warm, rich, and full of life. Every musician on this record brought their A-game, and you can hear it in every detail. But at its core, Promises isn’t just about production or technical achievements. It’s about friendship, trust, and the magic that happens when a group of people comes together with nothing but a shared vision and a passion for creating something real.

This album is a milestone, not just for JR, but for all of us who were lucky enough to be part of it. And for that, I couldn’t be prouder. is more than just an album; it’s a culmination of years of hard work, shared dreams, and the joy of making music with friends.
